Common Problems and Health Issues: Dwarf White Isopods are highly susceptible to drying out. If the enclosure becomes too dry, they will quickly die. Ensure that the substrate remains moist, especially in warm or dry environments.

2. Habitat Setup: Trichorhina tomentosa is highly sensitive to dry environments and requires consistently moist conditions to survive. In their natural habitats, they are found in the leaf litter of tropical rainforests, where humidity is high. To replicate this environment, the enclosure should always be kept moist, but not waterlogged. Dwarf White Isopods prefer a stable, warm environment that mimics their tropical origins. They thrive in temperatures ranging from 72°F to 82°F (22°C to 28°C). While they can tolerate slightly lower temperatures, colder environments will significantly slow down their metabolism and reproduction rates. Temperatures below 65°F (18°C) are unsuitable for long-term health.

3. Feeding and Nutrition: Dwarf White Isopods are detritivores, meaning they primarily feed on decaying plant matter, organic material, and fungi. Providing a varied diet ensures they receive all the necessary nutrients to support their growth, reproduction, and overall health. In addition to plant-based materials, providing a source of calcium is crucial for healthy molting. This can be done by adding crushed eggshells or cuttlefish bone to the enclosure. You can also use a calcium powder or mineral supplement to sprinkle on their food.
