🌿 Welcome to YOUR Isopods, where passion meets nature! I'm thrilled to share with you the wonders of our extraordinary collection of Penguin isopods – a unique and charming addition to your vivarium or terrarium.Â
1. Natural Aerators: They are natural aerators, loosening and aerating the terrarium substrate so other inhabitants can benefit from oxygenation.
2. Habitat Setup: Begin with a well-ventilated terrarium. The size of the enclosure will depend on the number of Penguin Isopods you plan to keep. Ensure a secure lid to prevent escapes. Use a substrate blend that replicates the natural habitat of Penguin Isopods. A mix of coconut coir, organic potting soil, leaf litter, and sphagnum moss provides a suitable substrate for moisture retention and burrowing. Keep the temperature in the range of 70-75°F (21-24°C). Penguin Isopods thrive in moderate temperatures, so avoid extreme fluctuations.
3. Feeding and Nutrition: Penguin Isopods are detritivores, meaning they feed on decaying organic matter. Provide a varied diet consisting of leaf litter, decaying wood, vegetable scraps, and specialized isopod foods. Ensure a good source of calcium for proper exoskeleton development. Crushed eggshells, cuttlebone, or a dedicated calcium supplement can be sprinkled in the enclosure.
